Ascendance
Ascendance is a functional space meant to inspire, and as such is based on material density and simplistic form. Three basic materials are used in the space: Concrete, Wood, and Glass. These resources are indicative of a solid, semi solid, and clear material state. The concept was conceived while viewing an aerial photo of a runway in Fiji, extending out into a bay. The shape of the runway inspired the ascending ramp, which is then mirrored above in the ceiling plane to create a denied perspective. This perspective elongates the space and creates a framed focal point at the far end. The two work zones both have access to natural light from the façade and the atriums light well which facilitates a creative environment.
